Description
This Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) continuation grant supports the 14 Massachusetts district teams awarded FC0612 funding in FY2026. During the 2026–2027 school year, teams will implement all or part of their plans to deliver preschool Individualized Education Program (IEP) services in licensed community-based settings, including Head Start, child care, and family child care. The central priority is access to inclusive settings with peers.
The initiative brings together public school and community preschool administrators and educators, Early Intervention, and families. It supports partnership development, itinerant staffing, service delivery, professional development, family engagement, and sustainability and financial planning. DESE hosts the initiative in collaboration with its Office of Special Education Planning and Policy and the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), providing coaching and networking with communities implementing itinerant team models.
