Key Information: Only districts funded under FY26 CS Engage are eligible; participation in external evaluation is required.
This continuation grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is designed to help public school districts in Massachusetts complete the implementation of high-quality, standards-aligned digital literacy and computer science (DLCS) education for all K–12 students. It represents the final phase of the CS Engage initiative, building on previous years’ work to expand and sustain DLCS programming across additional grade spans. The grant emphasizes sustainable implementation, professional development, and reaching underserved student populations—including economically disadvantaged, English learners, students with disabilities, underrepresented minorities, females, and rural students.
District teams will receive funding and hands-on support from DESE specialists and a Professional Development Coordinator to participate in curriculum PD, purchase instructional devices, and engage in planning and evaluation activities. All grantees must actively participate in external evaluation efforts to assess and improve the effectiveness of DLCS implementation.
