    Description

    This grant supports Massachusetts public school districts (LEAs) in providing a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) to eligible students with disabilities, ages 3–21, in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B, Section 611. Funds may be used for special education and related services tailored to individual student needs, including professional development, educational and behavioral evaluations, targeted interventions, and systemic improvement initiatives.

    The program is rooted in equity and results-driven accountability, aligning with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's (DESE) vision for inclusive, culturally sustaining, and high-expectation learning environments. Additional initiatives supported include Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CEIS), Comprehensive Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CCEIS), and the Making Money Matter (M3) initiative to address achievement gaps and improve student outcomes.
