--- ## Description This opportunity funds the restoration of the Great River Railroad, connecting the Port of Rosedale to the Columbus and Greenville Railroad (CAGY) in Metcalf, Mississippi. The project is part of a broader initiative divided into two phases: - **Phase 1** (funded under this agreement): Includes environmental review, preliminary engineering, final design, and construction to repair 31 miles of railroad for maintenance use. Activities entail replacing approximately one-third of the timber rail ties, repairing 33 grade crossings, adding supplemental ballast rock, resurfacing track, repairing four timber bridges, replacing one bridge with culverts, and installing one concrete culvert. - **Phase 2** (not funded under this agreement, except for environmental review): Will focus on further infrastructure upgrades to restore full operations, including new rail installation, additional bridge replacements, and siding improvements.
