Supports restoration of the Great River Railroad and associated infrastructure between the Port of Rosedale and the Columbus & Greenville Railroad in Mississippi.

--- ## Description This grant opportunity funds the first phase of a larger project to restore the Great River Railroad, which connects the Port of Rosedale to the Columbus and Greenville Railroad (CAGY) in Metcalf, Mississippi. The project will complete environmental reviews for both phases and focus on preliminary engineering, final design, and construction for Phase 1. This includes repairing 31 miles of railroad track, replacing approximately one-third of the timber rail ties, repairing 33 grade crossings, adding ballast rock, resurfacing track, repairing and replacing timber bridges, and installing culverts. While Phase 2 (full rail and bridge upgrades, siding improvements) will be environmentally reviewed under this award, only Phase 1 activities are funded at this time.
