--- ## Description This funding opportunity from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) aims to support projects that advance the management, conservation, and enhancement of wildlife resources and habitats on BLM-managed public lands. The program is designed to address national, regional, or state-level wildlife priorities, including: - Protection, maintenance, and development of wildlife habitat - Wildlife reintroduction and propagation - Field studies and monitoring of wildlife populations and habitats - Law enforcement and animal damage management related to wildlife - Educational programs and public outreach - Toxicity/mortality investigations - Activities that reduce threats to priority habitats or species Projects may include habitat restoration, inventory and monitoring, research, education, and actions to improve habitat connectivity or address emerging threats (such as drought or invasive species). The BLM encourages collaboration with state and tribal wildlife agencies, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions to maximize conservation benefits. --- ## Due Dates - Application window: June 23, 2025 – July 23, 2025 (5:00 p.m. ET) - Anticipated project start date: September 1, 2025 - Maximum project end date: September 30, 2030 --- ## Funding Amount - Estimated total program funding: $10,000,000 - Award ceiling: $1,500,000 - Award floor: $10,000 - Expected number of awards: approximately 90 - Project period: up to 5 years No cost sharing or matching is required. --- ## Eligibility Eligible applicants include: - State governments - County governments - City or township governments - Public and state-controlled institutions of higher education - Private institutions of higher education - Native American tribal governments (federally recognized) - Native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized) - Nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status (excluding institutions of higher education) **Not eligible:** Individuals and for-profit organizations. **Special notes:** - Projects hiring interns or crews under the Public Lands Corps Act are not supported under this NOFO. - Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units (CESU) partners may apply, with indirect costs capped at 17.5% if awarded under a CESU agreement. --- ## Application Process 1. **Register** your organization in [SAM.gov](https://sam.gov) and obtain a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). 2. **Register** in [Grants.gov](https://www.grants.gov/) and set up a Workspace (allow up to 30 days for registration). 3. **Prepare and submit** the required application materials via Grants.gov: - SF-424 (Application for Federal Assistance) - SF-424A (Budget Information – Non-Construction Programs) - Project abstract and narrative (max 15 pages; see [Project Proposal Template](https://api.atomgrants.com/storage/v1/object/public/grants3-sources/03%20(M)%2015.247%20Attachment%20A.docx)) - Budget narrative ([see guidance](https://api.atomgrants.com/storage/v1/object/public/grants3-sources/Attachment%20B%20Budget%20Narrative.xlsx)) - Required forms for research projects (Current and Pending Support, Biographical Sketch) - Other supporting documentation as needed (CVs, maps, letters of support, etc.) 4. **Submit** your application by July 23, 2025, 5:00 p.m. ET, via Grants.gov. Applications will be reviewed for eligibility, merit (including public benefit, technical approach, and qualifications), and budget reasonableness. --- ## Additional Information - Projects will be funded as cooperative agreements, with substantial BLM involvement. - Buy America preferences apply to infrastructure projects. - Reporting requirements include financial and programmatic reports, and compliance with federal data standards for geospatial information. - Indirect costs: De minimis rate (up to 15%) or negotiated rate allowed.
