Supports empirical research into the factors that affect research integrity and the root causes of research misconduct.

--- ## Description This program, administered by the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, funds empirical research projects focused on understanding and promoting research integrity. The aim is to identify societal, organizational, behavioral, group, and individual factors that influence research integrity, both positively and negatively, with a particular emphasis on uncovering the root causes of research misconduct. The program supports projects that help PHS-funded research institutions foster environments that encourage responsible conduct of research, prevent misconduct, and respond effectively to allegations of research misconduct, in compliance with 42 C.F.R.
