Description
This program, administered by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office), aims to advance community policing practices and enhance the capacity of law enforcement agencies to protect communities and improve officer safety and wellness. Funding is offered through two subcategories:
- Category 1: Collaborative Reform Initiative Technical Assistance Center (CRI-TAC) – Provides customizable, short-term technical assistance to law enforcement agencies on over 60 topics using a "by the field, for the field" approach.
- Category 2: Collaborative Reform Initiative Critical Response – Offers targeted technical assistance to agencies facing high-profile events, major incidents, or sensitive issues, including after-action reviews, peer exchanges, in-depth analyses, and facilitated discussions with subject matter experts.
The initiative seeks to share best practices, promote agency self-improvement, and foster effective, collaborative policing nationwide.
