Description
This program provides noncompetitive, invitational funding for state, territorial, local, tribal, and other entities specifically designated in the Congressional Joint Explanatory Statement (JES) for the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026 (Public Law 119-74). The goal is to help these entities develop and acquire effective law enforcement equipment, advanced technologies, and interoperable communications systems that support crime prevention, response, and the expansion of community policing practices. Funded equipment must meet any applicable standards set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Office of Law Enforcement Standards.
