The GAIN Collaborative Research Program (CRP) is designed to foster robust, interdisciplinary research partnerships between faculty at South Carolina’s research universities (Clemson, MUSC, USC Columbia) and primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs), including HBCUs. The program supports projects at the intersection of artificial intelligence, life and social sciences, and bioengineering, with the goal of advancing research capacity and innovation in biomedical devices, AI, and digital twin technologies. GAIN CRP is closely aligned with the ADAPT in SC initiative and encourages projects that integrate research, education, workforce development, and industry engagement. The program places strong emphasis on mentorship, workforce training, and building competitiveness for future extramural funding.
