--- ## Description This program funds fundamental research in geophysics, advancing understanding of the Earth's physical properties and processes from the surface to the deep interior. Supported research spans laboratory, field, theoretical, and computational studies. Key areas include seismicity, seismic wave propagation, geophysical hazards (earthquakes, volcanoes), Earth's magnetic, gravity, and electrical fields, thermal structure, geodynamics, geodesy, and the properties and behavior of Earth materials.
