--- ## Description The Geospace Environment Modeling (GEM) program is a broad-based research initiative of the National Science Foundation (NSF) aimed at investigating the physics of the Earth's magnetosphere, particularly its interactions with the atmosphere and the solar wind. The program's primary goal is to enable accurate predictions of the geospace environment by fostering the development of physical understanding and realistic models of large-scale geospace dynamics, drawing on observations, theory, and computational modeling. GEM encourages interdisciplinary research and advances in numerical simulations, including both global and regional models. The program also supports annual workshops to facilitate collaboration, the exchange of results, and the development of geospace modeling capabilities.
