--- ## Description This program supports basic research on the structure and dynamics of Earth’s upper atmosphere, leveraging NSF-supported geospace facilities. These include four large incoherent-scatter radar facilities—located along a longitudinal chain from Greenland to Peru—and the SuperDARN coherent scatter radar system, which operates in both hemispheres. Each radar site is also equipped with advanced optical diagnostic instruments.
