The Getty Global Art & Sustainability Fellows program is a six-year international initiative supporting early-career professionals and artists working at the intersection of arts, sustainability, and climate resilience. The program aims to develop a new generation of leaders addressing urgent global challenges such as climate change and sustainable heritage management. Fellows are hosted at 17 partner organizations across six continents, engaging in projects that span scientific interventions (e.g., preservation of collections and heritage sites) and interpretive work (e.g., artist residencies, public art, and knowledge dissemination). The program emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, professional development, and the integration of sustainability into the cultural sector.
Fellows will have the opportunity to work on site-specific projects, participate in regular convenings, and contribute to advancing innovative practices in environmental stewardship and cultural resilience. Each fellowship typically lasts two years, with host institutions selecting up to three fellows in consecutive terms.
