The Getty Post-Baccalaureate Conservation Internships are designed to increase participation of students from underrepresented backgrounds in graduate programs related to museum conservation. This yearlong, immersive program provides hands-on conservation work, mentorship, and professional development. Interns spend six months at Getty Center or Getty Villa conservation studios and labs, followed by six months at a Los Angeles-area museum or another Getty department. The program aims to address barriers faced by underrepresented groups by offering practical training, financial support, and access to prerequisite coursework and academic advising, thereby preparing participants for successful application to competitive conservation graduate programs.
