The Gilbert S. Omenn Fellowship is part of the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) Fellowships for Health Science Scholars, designed to foster the next generation of physician-scientists who integrate biomedical research, public health, and clinical medicine. This two-year fellowship allows early-career academic professionals to remain at their home institutions while participating in the work of a health- or medicine-related board at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Fellows are assigned a senior NAM member as a mentor, engage in committee work, and contribute to reports and other scholarly products, all while building leadership skills and expanding their professional networks.
