    Description

    The Gilliam Fellows Program, administered by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), is designed to support promising second- and third-year PhD students in the basic biological and biomedical sciences, along with their faculty thesis advisors. The program aims to advance innovative dissertation research and cultivate inclusive scientific training environments. Fellows receive up to three years of stipend and discretionary support during their PhD, extensive professional development opportunities, and access to a vibrant community of peers and mentors. After completing their PhD, fellows interested in academic research careers can apply for up to four years of postdoctoral support, with continued emphasis on mentorship and inclusion.
