The Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Postdoctoral Fellowships in Aging Research, administered by the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), provide substantial support for postdoctoral fellows (MD, MD/PhD, or PhD) pursuing research on the basic biology of aging or translational studies with direct relevance to human aging and healthspan. The program aims to foster the careers of emerging scientists by supporting projects that advance understanding of fundamental aging mechanisms or have the potential to inform clinically relevant strategies. Research on age-related diseases is eligible only if it explores how fundamental aging processes contribute to disease. Strictly clinical, health outcomes, or social context projects are not supported. Awardees are expected to participate in AFAR/Glenn grantee conferences to promote collaboration in the aging research community.
