The GMZ Fellowship, part of the Tuttle–GMZ Fellowships initiative, is designed to advance research and knowledge in health facility planning and design. Offered by the Foundation for Health Environments Research (FHER) in collaboration with the American Institute of Architects' Academy of Architecture for Health (AIA-AAH), the fellowship targets graduate students, junior faculty, and emerging professionals. Its primary goals are to increase awareness of the unique challenges of healthcare environments, encourage research aligned with the missions of AAH, FHER, and the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI), and attract new talent to the field. The fellowship supports research-based projects that yield actionable recommendations for healthcare facility design practice.
