Description
This grant, managed by Expertise France, is aimed at supporting two main areas in the Caribbean region:
- The development and implementation of innovative and sustainable sargassum value chain initiatives by private sector entities and civil society organizations (CSOs).
- The production, dissemination, and application of knowledge by Caribbean-based scientists and research institutions on sargassum management, valorization pathways, and its environmental and health impacts.
Projects should address at least one of the following thematic areas:
- Human health relevance (exposure, toxicity, public health implications)
- Ecosystem and biodiversity impact (ecological effects, resilience mechanisms)
- Valorization and territorial relevance (sustainable applications, circular economy, decision-support tools)
All projects must be implemented in one or more eligible countries: Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (for Lot 1); and, additionally for Lot 2, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mexico, Belize, and the Dominican Republic.
