This program provides funding to Indian Tribal governments, their authorized designees, and Tribal consortia to strengthen the criminal justice response to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and stalking in Tribal communities. Funded projects may enhance governmental strategies, build tribal capacity, support victim services, improve legal and justice interventions, and promote prevention and education. The program also supports efforts to address issues such as missing or murdered Indigenous persons, supervised visitation, transitional housing, legal assistance, and youth victim services. Priority may be given to projects addressing human trafficking, transnational crime, and those enhancing criminal justice responses in rural or remote Tribal areas.
