    Description

This opportunity, issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Great Lakes National Program Office, solicits applications for a cooperative agreement to conduct the Phytoplankton and Chlorophyll-a components of the Great Lakes Biology Monitoring Program (GLBMP). The program fulfills EPA’s statutory obligation under the Clean Water Act to operate a system-wide surveillance network for monitoring water quality in the Great Lakes. The selected recipient will carry out annual sample collection, taxonomic analysis, biovolume calculations, chlorophyll-a analysis, and comprehensive data management from 2027–2031. The work directly supports the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) and broader ecosystem management and restoration efforts.
