--- ## Description The award recognizes industrial chemists or teams who have developed more sustainable and green technologies with significant or potential impact in discovery and medicinal chemistry, particularly for biologically-active molecules. It aims to showcase advancements in sustainable protocols, automated and parallel synthesis, non-conventional synthetic pathways, novel SAR strategies for ADME optimization, and innovative molecular design for lead identification and biodegradation. The recipient is invited to present their work at the Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference and receives recognition in the form of a plaque and certificates. --- ## Due Dates - December 2026 (anticipated/projected, full application deadline) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - Up to $5,000 cash award - Reimbursement of transportation, lodging, and registration fees for the Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference (up to $2,500; additional funds available for international travel per ACS guidelines) - Plaque for the recipient or team, and certificates for each team member --- ## Eligibility - Open to individuals or teams (up to 10 people) from industry, internationally. - Recognizes a specific innovation or technology in discovery/medicinal chemistry with potential for broad sustainability impact. - Not a career achievement award; focuses on a single project. - ACS membership is **not required**. - Nominees may be from any country. - Accomplishments must align with green chemistry principles and detail the significance (yield, waste reduction, environmental impact, reduction of hazardous chemicals, etc.). --- ## Application Process - Submit applications via the [ACS Green Chemistry Institute application portal](https://gci.acs.org/).
