Summary: Two-year fellowship for early-career bioethics scholars to engage in research and policy work at the National Academies with mentorship and professional development.
The Greenwall Fellowship in Bioethics is a prestigious two-year program designed for early-career scholars interested in bioethics, clinical care, biomedical research, public health, or public policy. Fellows are integrated into the work of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, assigned to a health- and medicine-related board, and participate actively in study committees or roundtables. The experience includes mentorship by a senior National Academy of Medicine (NAM) member, exposure to a wide range of experts (including legislators, government officials, and industry leaders), and attendance at key meetings such as a one-week orientation and the NAM Annual Meeting. Fellows continue working at their home institution while dedicating 10–20% of their time to the fellowship.
