The Mayo Clinic Arizona Headache Fellowship is a one-year, full-time program designed to provide advanced clinical and research training in headache medicine. Recognized as the largest academic headache fellowship in the United States, this program offers fellows comprehensive exposure to diagnosing and managing headache disorders in adults and children. The curriculum features specialized rotations in pediatric headache (in partnership with Phoenix Children’s Hospital), acute concussion, autonomic disorders, and a dedicated procedure clinic. Fellows gain hands-on experience with procedural skills such as onabotulinumtoxinA injections and nerve blocks, and participate in the Comprehensive Pain Rehabilitation program for multidisciplinary pain management. Approximately 30% of the fellowship is protected for research, with opportunities for laboratory work, manuscript preparation, and presentations at national and international meetings.
