Summary: Funds research to improve detection, diagnosis, and care pathways for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, aiming for actionable evidence to enhance quality and equity in dementia care.
This program supports health services research focused on improving dementia detection, diagnosis, and post-diagnostic care pathways for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD). The goal is to generate actionable evidence that enhances person-centered, coordinated, and equitable brain health and dementia care. Projects may address barriers and solutions to timely access, quality, and care coordination, and are encouraged to use rigorous methodologies. High-priority topics include the value of early detection and diagnosis, and care pathways for individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia, including studies on comorbidities, interventions, and health equity.
