The Health System Impact (HSI) Fellowship provides doctoral trainees and postdoctoral fellows in health services and policy research (or related fields) with an opportunity to apply research and analytic skills to critical, real-world challenges in health care. Fellows are embedded within health system organizations—such as public, private, not-for-profit, and Indigenous health organizations—outside of traditional academic environments, working on impact-oriented projects tailored to the needs of their host organizations. The fellowship also emphasizes professional development, mentorship from both academic and health system leaders, and participation in a national cohort, preparing fellows for diverse, impact-oriented careers in the health sector.
