    Description

    The Healthy Food Financing Program, administered by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), aims to expand access to affordable, healthy foods in underserved communities throughout Alabama. The program provides funding for the construction, renovation, or expansion of grocery stores, as well as infrastructure upgrades and related activities that improve the supply and quality of fresh produce and other nutritious foods in low- and moderate-income areas. Both for-profit and nonprofit entities are eligible to apply, and projects must demonstrate a direct benefit to underserved communities.
