--- ## Description The fellowship provides financial support to full-time graduate students, both U.S. and international, who are conducting innovative research in green chemistry or green engineering. The program is designed to advance the design of chemical products and processes that minimize or eliminate the use and generation of hazardous substances, focusing on greener synthetic pathways, reaction conditions, and the design of safer chemical products. The fellowship encourages research that reduces environmental and human health impacts and supports the professional development of future leaders in sustainable chemistry. --- ## Due Dates - Application deadline: November 3, 2025 (11:59 p.m. EDT) - Applications open: September 1, 2025 - Award notification: On or before January 30, 2026 Recipients are required to present their research at the annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference (June 23–26, 2025, Pittsburgh, PA) and submit a summary report after the event. --- ## Funding Amount - $5,000 one-time, non-renewable award per recipient - Two fellowships awarded each year - Funds may be used for any purpose related to graduate studies (e.g., research, travel, professional development, or living expenses) --- ## Eligibility - Open to full-time graduate students (master’s or doctoral) worldwide (U.S. and international) - Research must be relevant to green chemistry and/or green engineering - Applicants must have at least one full year of study remaining from the time of the award (i.e., must continue research through at least the end of the following academic year) - Only one application per person per year; applicants may not apply for multiple ACS Green Chemistry awards in the same cycle ### Research Focus Areas Eligible projects must address at least one of the following: - Greener synthetic pathways (e.g., renewable feedstocks, novel catalysts, biomimetic processes, energy/mass efficiency) - Greener reaction conditions (e.g., safer solvents, solventless/solid-state reactions, pollution prevention, energy efficiency) - Design of greener chemicals (e.g., reduced hazard, improved safety, recyclability, environmental compatibility) --- ## Application Process 1. **Application Period:** Opens September 1, 2025.
