Summary: Supports early-career academic surgeons for innovative clinical or translational research on auditory and vestibular system diseases.
This award, jointly sponsored by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Foundation (AAO-HNSF) and the American Neurotology Society (ANS), supports new full-time academic surgeons in the United States or Canada conducting clinical or translational research on diseases, disorders, or conditions of the peripheral or central auditory and/or vestibular system. The intent is to facilitate early-stage clinical investigator career development, encourage innovative research, and help recipients prepare for larger, external research funding. Projects should be clinically relevant and may focus on pathophysiology, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of auditory and/or vestibular diseases. Proposals introducing novel methodologies or interdisciplinary collaborations are encouraged, especially those addressing otosclerosis or Meniere's disease.
