Heritage Professional Development Stipend supports King County heritage practitioners’ professional learning to strengthen their work, address shared field needs, and benefit local residents.

Funding Amounts: $100–$2,000 per stipend; participation must finish within 12 months of the award

Description
4Culture’s Heritage Professional Development Stipend helps King County heritage practitioners gain skills, knowledge, inspiration, and approaches for career growth or maintenance. Supported opportunities include conferences, workshops, technical assistance, training, demonstrations, and healing opportunities, especially for practitioners engaged in social justice work. The program supports participation rather than production of a cultural project.
Learning must address an established heritage-field need and be immediately useful to the practitioner’s work or institution’s goals. Applicants explain how they will apply and share their learning so the wider King County heritage field benefits. Public benefit can include raising local heritage’s visibility, sharing knowledge with peers, learning to document and preserve material culture, or developing skills to address field-wide challenges.
