Description
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) is offering a one-time distribution of battery collection kits, fire control blankets, and related materials to municipalities across Massachusetts. The goal is to support the safe collection and management of lithium-ion and mixed batteries from residents, addressing the hazards associated with improper disposal in solid waste streams. All collection materials, shipping, and training are provided at no cost to eligible municipalities, enabling them to establish or enhance local residential battery collection programs.
