Description
The Higher Education Challenge (HEC) Grants Program, administered by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), aims to strengthen institutional capacities in food and agricultural sciences. The program focuses on developing and improving formal master's, doctorate, and first-professional degree (e.g., DVM) education through curriculum development, faculty enhancement, scientific instrumentation, and student recruitment and retention. HEC seeks to build a highly skilled workforce by supporting innovative educational projects, fostering collaboration among institutions, and enhancing leadership development for students pursuing advanced degrees in food and agricultural sciences.
