Description
This National Science Foundation (NSF) opportunity supports Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) in advancing undergraduate STEM education and improving student outcomes. The program aims to foster innovation and research in STEM teaching, learning environments, and support structures at HSIs, with an emphasis on understanding and addressing the diverse needs and lived experiences of students. Projects may focus on curriculum, pedagogy, student support, institutional pathways, and/or acquisition of educational instrumentation.
Two main tracks are available:
- Implementation and Evaluation Projects (IEP): For research, implementation, and evaluation of practices to improve STEM education and student outcomes at HSIs. IEP is offered at two levels, with Level 2 supporting larger-scale, research-intensive, and sustainable efforts.
- Educational Instrumentation (EI): For increasing access to laboratory or computing equipment that enhances undergraduate STEM education, particularly at PUIs and HSIs in EPSCoR jurisdictions.
Planning and conference proposals related to HSI STEM education goals are also accepted at any time (contact program officers before submission).
