--- ## Description The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at NIH plans to solicit applications for research focused on the development and progression of clonal hematopoiesis (CH), specifically clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP), in people living with HIV (PLWH) and individuals affected by other chronic inflammatory, infectious, or age-related conditions. The initiative aims to: - Elucidate mechanisms by which chronic inflammation, HIV-associated factors, aging, cardiovascular diseases, venous thrombosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and other conditions promote CHIP. - Understand global variation in CHIP prevalence among PLWH and other affected populations. - Determine the impact of CHIP on heart, lung, blood, and sleep (HLBS) health in these populations.
