Summary: Funds organizational and workforce capacity-building for tribal and urban Indian organizations to strengthen HIV prevention, testing, and care systems.
This opportunity, administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau with support from the Minority HIV/AIDS Fund, funds three entities to deliver HIV training and technical assistance (T/TA) to Tribes, Tribal organizations, and Urban Indian organizations. The goal is to build organizational and workforce capacity to implement sustainable, system-level changes that improve the identification of undiagnosed American Indian and Alaska Native individuals with HIV, increase linkage and re-engagement in HIV care, and improve viral suppression rates.
Funded entities will conduct needs assessments, develop tailored T/TA plans, provide training at both provider/staff and system levels, organize learning collaboratives, and rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of their efforts. The project emphasizes community engagement, partnerships, and alignment with broader tribal health strategies. HRSA and Indian Health Service (IHS) will provide ongoing consultation and oversight.
