    Description

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), under the Administration for Children and Families, provides temporary housing and care for unaccompanied children who arrive in the United States without a parent or legal guardian. This program funds organizations to conduct home studies before placing children with sponsors, ensuring placements are safe and appropriate. After placement, the program provides post-release services to support the well-being, safety, and integration of these children and their sponsors, helping them adjust to new environments and navigate the immigration court process. The ultimate goal is to protect vulnerable children and help them thrive while their immigration cases proceed.
