The Honoring Our Cleveland Clinic Mentors Program, offered by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) Foundation, is a full-day, in-person leadership and career development course for North American cardiothoracic surgery residents in their chief or penultimate year of training. Hosted at the Cleveland Clinic, the program is designed to help participants understand the steps necessary to secure their first academic position, develop areas of expertise, and launch their careers in academic cardiothoracic surgery. The program also celebrates the legacy of three influential Cleveland Clinic surgeons and AATS Presidents: Delos M. Cosgrove, MD; Floyd D. Loop, MD; and Bruce W. Lytle, MD.
Successful applicants receive a $1,000 stipend to offset travel and hotel expenses and gain opportunities for networking, mentorship, and observation of clinical practice. The program includes an optional evening reception and additional educational activities.
