Description
This Horizon Europe Innovation Action funds projects that develop and demonstrate innovative, disruptive, and sustainable solutions to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) overcome barriers to the green and circular transition. The aim is to enable SMEs to meet EU policy requirements on climate change, pollution, biodiversity, and sustainable resource use, while improving their competitiveness, resilience, and resource independence.
Eligible projects should identify and address key challenges faced by SMEs in adopting sustainable practices, offering concrete, user-friendly solutions such as new business models, collaborative governance, tailored transformation plans, digital tools (including AI and digital product passports), and environmental management systems. Proposals must demonstrate feasibility, environmental performance, and transferability in large-scale operational environments, with active SME involvement.
The grant also supports skill development activities, policy recommendations for broader adoption, and collaboration with relevant public organizations and previous EU-funded projects.
