Description
The Huakaʻi Travel Grants program, administered by the Hawai'i Community Foundation (HCF), is designed to support the perpetuation of Indigenous knowledge and Native Hawaiian culture by reducing barriers to participation in significant cultural experiences and events across Hawai‘i. These grants provide funding to Hawai‘i-based organizations to facilitate travel for participants—especially those from rural or neighbor island communities—to attend important cultural activities, ceremonies, or visit sites of cultural significance. The program aims to strengthen intergenerational transmission of knowledge, enhance community connections, and ensure the endurance of Native Hawaiian cultural practices.
