--- ## Description This award, established by the Cariology Group of the International Association for Dental Oral and Craniofacial Research (IADR), honors young investigators demonstrating excellence in dental caries and cariology research. The award celebrates scientific achievement in the field and aims to encourage continued engagement with the Cariology Research Group. Recipients receive a plaque and a monetary prize intended to support their attendance at the IADR General Session & Exhibition. --- ## Due Dates - January 2027 (anticipated application deadline) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - US$2,500 cash prize - Award plaque - Funds are intended to cover registration, travel, and housing expenses for attendance at the IADR General Session & Exhibition --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must not have reached their 40th birthday at the time of the IADR meeting (typically in June of the award year). - Must be a member of the Cariology Research Group by the time of application and receipt of the prize. - Open to young scientists and students conducting research in cariology and/or dental erosion. - Candidates may apply directly or be nominated by a member of the Cariology Group. --- ## Application Process - Prepare and combine the following documents into a single PDF: - Curriculum Vitae (maximum 3 pages) - Summary of specific scientific contributions (maximum 2 pages) - List of reports or publications - Supporting statement from a colleague or member of the Cariology Group - Submit the application as directed on the [award program page](https://www.iadr.org/awards/iadr-basil-g-bibby-young-investigator-award). - Applications are reviewed by the Cariology Research Group Executive Committee.
