--- ## Description This opportunity from the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation is designed to accelerate the development of innovative, research-based products aimed at improving the quality of life for patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The program supports product-oriented research and development through both financial investment (up to $500,000 per project per year) and additional accelerator resources, such as strategic advising and access to biosample/data repositories. Eligible projects must have a clear, near-term product development objective and the potential to address significant unmet needs in IBD care. --- ## Due Dates - September 17, 2025: Letter of Intent deadline All applicants must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) by the deadline to be considered for the next review cycle. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal, typically due about one month after invitation. --- ## Funding Amount - Up to $500,000 per project per year, inclusive of direct and indirect costs (indirect costs capped at 10%) - Funding is typically for a 12-month period, with renewal possible for additional years if milestones are achieved - Approximately 50% of funding is provided up front; the remainder is milestone-based - Cost-sharing and supplementation with other funding sources are encouraged - No equity or IP ownership is taken, but a financial return to the Foundation is required if the funded technology is commercialized --- ## Eligibility - **Companies**: Primarily small for-profit biotechnology companies, but larger or non-profit organizations may also apply if focused on product development. Must have independent operations, a business plan, full-time personnel, and appropriate infrastructure. - **Academic or Research Institutions**: Eligible if they demonstrate commitment to commercialization (e.g., SBIR/STTR awards, industry collaborations, tech transfer support).
