This funding opportunity supports idea-developing, interdisciplinary research projects designed to advance the field of animal protection and animal welfare. Projects are expected to explore new and broadened perspectives, challenge or extend the current state of knowledge, and foster collaborations across different disciplines and knowledge traditions. The call is open to projects focusing on specific animals or groups, as well as those adopting holistic or systemic approaches, particularly those analyzing conflicts of objectives and interests, applying systems perspectives, or exploring norms and values in animal protection and welfare.
