Description
This opportunity funds community-based organizations, accredited public colleges or universities, and coalitions to deliver pre-apprenticeship training and support services across Illinois. The goal is to expand access to high-quality training for construction and building trades careers, with a focus on increasing participation from underrepresented groups, including women, people of color, veterans, and others. Grantees will recruit, prescreen, and train participants, providing clear pathways to U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Programs and ultimately supporting entry into meaningful employment in the trades. Priority is given to regions and populations underserved by current programs.
