--- ## Description This funding opportunity supports research, management, and outreach activities to address the spread and impacts of quagga and zebra mussels—two highly invasive aquatic species—across the western United States. Funded projects will advance the priorities outlined in the Quagga/Zebra Mussel Action Plan for Western U.S. Waters (QZAP 2.0), including prevention, early detection, rapid response, containment, control, and education. The program aims to provide a unified, systematic approach to protect western ecosystems, infrastructure, and recreational resources from these invasive species. --- ## Due Dates - **Application Deadline:** September 5, 2025, 11:59 PM ET Applications must be submitted through [GrantSolutions.gov](https://www.grantsolutions.gov/). Submissions via Grants.gov will not be accepted. --- ## Funding Amount - **Total Estimated Program Funding:** $2,200,000 - **Award Range:** $50,000 (minimum) to $600,000 (maximum) per project - **Project Duration:** Up to 18 months per award - **Expected Number of Awards:** Approximately 15 There is **no cost-sharing or matching requirement**. --- ## Eligibility - **Eligible Applicants:** Unrestricted. All legal entities may apply, including: - State, local, tribal, and territorial governments - Nonprofit and for-profit organizations - Academic and research institutions - Federal agencies (may be funded via interagency agreement) - **Geographic Scope:** Projects must be within the boundaries of the Western Regional Panel of the U.S. (excluding Canada and Mexico). - **Restrictions:** Land acquisition is not eligible for funding.
