Summary: Supports research and pilot projects to enhance Tribal communities’ capacity to identify and respond to emerging drug threats.
This funding opportunity aims to address critical challenges faced by Tribal communities in identifying and responding to emerging drug threats. The project supports research and pilot initiatives that strengthen drug data systems and/or develop or scale early warning systems for actionable data dissemination. The overarching goal is to improve Tribal capacity for real-time detection and communication of drug threats, thereby supporting the 2026 National Drug Control Strategy and reducing overdose deaths among American Indian or Alaska Native populations, who currently experience a drug overdose death rate twice the national average.
