    Description

The Independent Medical Education (IME) Program from Ionis Pharmaceuticals funds targeted, high-quality accredited and non-accredited medical education initiatives designed to advance excellence in healthcare. The program’s primary focus is to improve disease awareness, clinical knowledge, and multidisciplinary management in the therapeutic areas of hereditary angioedema (HAE) and severe hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG), including familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS).

IME activities must be evidence-based, fair-balanced, unbiased, and completely independent of industry influence. All aspects—including agenda, content, and faculty—must be under the sole control of the activity organizers. Accredited programs must adhere to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education.

Requests with multiple potential supporters are preferred. Note that grant requests related to amyloid transthyretin cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) or amyloid transthyretin polyneuropathy (ATTR-PM) are not eligible and should be submitted to AstraZeneca.
