Key Information: Funding is non-competitive and awarded on a rolling basis to eligible applications while funds remain.
This scheme funds doctoral research projects conducted collaboratively between a Norwegian company (the Project Owner) and a degree-conferring institution (university or university college, Norwegian or foreign). Projects must address research questions relevant to the company’s R&D needs and be jointly planned and executed. The program encourages closer ties between business and research communities, aiming to strengthen research-based innovation and long-term competence in Norwegian industry. Both thematically open and earmarked thematic projects (defense capability, deep tech, quantum technology, circular economy, maritime research) are supported.
The scheme is not competitive; funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to applications that meet all requirements, as long as funds are available.
