    Description

This funding opportunity from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) supports state Medicaid agencies in the implementation and evaluation of the Innovation in Behavioral Health (IBH) Model. The IBH Model is a seven-year, voluntary service delivery and payment model designed to promote integrated care in specialty behavioral health (BH) settings. The primary aim is to align value-based payment models across Medicaid and Medicare to support integrated care delivery for adult beneficiaries with moderate to severe mental health conditions and/or substance use disorders (SUDs).

Selected state Medicaid agencies will design and implement a care delivery framework and payment approach that fosters integration between behavioral health and physical health services, enhances care management, and addresses social determinants of health. The model includes technical assistance, infrastructure funding, and a robust evaluation component.
