Description
The Innovation Ecosystem Development Program (IEDP) is a competitive grant administered by Maine Technology Institute (MTI). Unlike MTI funding directed to individual innovation-driven companies, IEDP invests in mission-based organizations that build the capacity and support those companies need. Its goal is to strengthen the pipeline and quality of Maine’s innovation-driven enterprises across seven targeted technology sectors.
The program supports new company formation, growth and scaling of existing companies, and work that strengthens the broader innovation ecosystem. Programs may serve companies directly or improve the ecosystem they depend upon. MTI seeks measurable results and a credible connection to companies whose innovations meet its Business Innovation Funding eligibility criteria. Both new and established organizations may apply, including organizations based outside Maine when their funded work occurs in Maine and benefits Maine-based companies.
