Breakthrough T1D provides seed funding through its Innovative Awards for bold, high-risk/high-reward research projects with the potential to significantly advance the field of type 1 diabetes (T1D). The program seeks proposals that address key outstanding questions, challenge conventional wisdom, or could lead to paradigm-shifting discoveries in T1D research. The mechanism is not intended for incremental advances or resource generation, but rather for transformative ideas with a clear, well-defined goal achievable within one year and the award budget.
