Provides seed funding for highly innovative, high-risk/high-reward research with the potential to transform understanding or treatment of type 1 diabetes.

--- ## Description This opportunity provides one-year seed grants to support bold, high-risk/high-reward research projects that could significantly advance the mission of Breakthrough T1D. The program seeks proposals that address key unanswered questions in type 1 diabetes (T1D) and have the potential to challenge current paradigms or lead to groundbreaking discoveries. Projects should be focused, with a well-defined goal achievable within the award period, and the central hypothesis must be justified in the research plan. Preliminary data are not required, but proposals should present a plausible and testable concept.
